Oklahoma 🎻MusIcians 🎸
I am very proud and honored to be an Oklahoman. I was born in downtown Oklahoma City at St. Anthony’s Hospital on August 2, 1974. I am both humbled and honored to say I have had the opportunity to work as both a public school teacher for Oklahoma City Public Schools (1998) as well as a firefighter for the Oklahoma City Fire Department (1999).
Castle began attending the second grade at Blanchard Public Schools In 1982 and graduated from Blanchard High School in 1993.
The biggest thing that brings me such joy to claim I am an Okie is truly the people. There are honestly no people on earth more willing to lend a hand in times of trouble than Oklahomans.
The second thing that brings me such pride in my home state of Oklahoma is the rich history of music. That being said, this section of the website is designed simply to pay tribute to some of the musicians who have contributed to the rich history of country music in the state of Oklahoma.

“Famous Oklahoma Country Music Singers”
(*Video Courtesy of OkieFan)
A long list famous Okies have made a great contribution to music over the years! This video features a group of famous Oklahomans who are recording artists of the country music genre alone.
There are many more famous musicians with Oklahoma ties throughout the history of Oklahoma who made a huge impact on the music industry who may not be featured in this video.
This video by no means is meant to exclude any of the other influential artists with Oklahoma ties, but it is unfortunately impossible to feature every single influential Oklahoma musician in one short video.

Garth Brooks Tribute
(“The Dance”)
Yukon, Oklahoma’s Own Garth Brooks:
Garth Brooks is a talented country music singer and songwriter as well as a famous Oklahoman with a lot of great songs, but “The Dance” is a personal favorite of mine. Garth was raised in Yukon, Oklahoma and is not only a Famous Oklahoman, but a huge top selling artist and a phenomenal entertainer. Garth's music became popular when I was just in junior high school and he has had a very successful career of recording really great music. This rendition of his song is my tribute to the music of the famous Oklahoman and a great country music singer-songwriter by the name of Garth Brooks.

A Tribute To Merle Haggard:
“Merle Haggard Song
(It Ain’t Wrong)”
“The Okie From Muskogee”
Merle Haggard is my favorite country singer-songwriter.
Merle Haggard was born poor, though not desperately so, in Depression-era Bakersfield to Jim and Flossie Haggard, migrants from Oklahoma.
Jim, a railroad carpenter, died of a stroke in 1946, forcing Flossie to find work as a bookkeeper.
